After years of travel and exploration, Marlize Sturman has gathered a great wealth of knowledge and wisdom that she readily imparts to all of those willing to learn from her experiences. Throughout her life, she has been an adept student of many healing arts including yoga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Pranayama, Ashtanga, yoga's philosophy, Thai Yoga Massage, Ayurveda, and Qi Gong. While traveling, Marlize has worked under the guidance of many accomplished and respected teachers; these include: Saul David Raye, Hala Khouri, Steven Espinosa, Matthew Reyes, Vinnie Marino, Shiva Rea, Erich Schiffmann, Lisa Walford, Jasmine Lieb, and Annie Carpenter. Though she already has a great wealth of knowledge and understanding, Marlize remains a student of the healing arts. She believes that there is no limit to the knowledge and understanding.
With the experiences and techniques gathered under this wide array of instruction, Marlize Sturman is more than qualified to guide students through the intricate yoga world. Because she has such varied experiences with instruction herself, Marlize is able to teach any kind of student: young, old, beginners, advanced students, athletes, and mommies-to-be!
Her brand of instruction is unique. Marlize strives for each of her classes to be not only inviting and grounding, but creative and memorable as well. As Marlize guides her students through yoga exercises, her soul focus is not the poses as it is in many other yoga classes. Marlize encourages her students to be graceful and fluid, teaching clean transitions between yoga poses with the same emphasis as the poses themselves. She emphasizes not only the physical aspect of the healing art, but the more important mental and spiritual cleansing and grounding that comes from practice and understanding.
Marlize Sturman has touched the lives of many students throughout the years, and feels privileged to be a part of so many lives. She has also had the taken great pleasure in her time as a student. Marlize is deeply grateful for the knowledge and wisdom that has been imparted to her throughout her travels. Without their guidance and support, Marlize may still be searching for herself, attempting to find some outside force to transform her person, rather than aiding others in their own search for self-fulfillment. She hopes that each individual who has inspired or guided her life will have many blessings in their own existence.
